Navigating Business Licenses, DBAs, and Life’s Learning Curves
A Day in the Life: Business, Babysitting, and Building a Brand
Still on a couch—but this time, it’s my cousin’s. Progress has been made: I conquered the DNS issues (finally!), but now I’m tackling the next hurdle: securing a business license. Since my website isn’t under my legal name, I’ve learned that I need a DBA (Doing Business As). It’s all a learning curve, and I’m rolling with it.
Today, my favorite coworkers are my little cousins. I’m multitasking as a babysitter, and my unofficial role as a part-time mother is as fulfilling as it is chaotic.
A Product Inspired by the Littlest Team Members
While babysitting, I got inspired to create one of my favorite products: a onesie for the tiniest team players. Perfect for your favorite coworker who’s expecting their newest favorite worker.
Sure, the newest hire might not get much done, but they’ll still be an irreplaceable part of the team. It’s a playful nod to the dynamics of work life and family life, blending humor and connection into every product.
Reflecting on the Journey
Running a business means constantly learning, adapting, and sometimes leaning on the people around you—whether it’s customer service reps or your little cousins. It’s not just about the products I’m creating; it’s about the story I’m building, one lesson at a time.
The grind continues, but so does the joy. Here’s to figuring it out, one step (or babysitting shift) at a time. Officially launched this store 11/16/24
